Halfway There...

We are almost at the halfway mark for the year. So its time to break out your goals for 2014... where are you?

I'm having to rethink my strategy and focus based on feedback that I've been getting regarding my goal to help more people use UltraCart.

It's been a challenge for me. Over the past few months I have spent the majority of my time working with our 30-day trial customers. I wanted to find out why some did not choose to stay with UltraCart, although in hindsight I already had that information. We have been collecting it for years in our cancellation questionnaire. The reasons why most merchants do not convert from trial to merchant are mostly the same as why they cancel. So the last few months that I've spent working long hours and trying to connect with prospects (that often times do not want to be bothered), may not have been the best use of my time. The verdict is still out on that one, and hindsight is 20/20, but I’m having to regroup and find another strategy. I must find a way to help new merchants.

Declined Order

Is there a key code anywhere to see what the codes mean when a card is either declined or considered fraudulent?

Buddy of mine said that starting with the end in mind is good, but starting with an exit strategy is better. What do you think?

Just finished up a blog post, I'll let you know later today when I post it, but I was reminded of the awesome Sale Cost feature which allows you to set and forget times when your items will be on sale. You can configure it all the way down the second!

Designing the new account setup process is proving more difficult than I imagined. Our merchants needs are vastly different from physical products, downloadable products, perishable products, services, ordering processes etc. Its challenging to boil it down to just the necessities. Luckily we have a great support team that can help you find the tools and features you need to implement to utilize the best that UC has to offer.
